Passport Program
The Passport program is a digital check-in activity designed to explore the many University of Minnesota locations throughout the State Fair. Visitors can scan QR codes at each participating location to learn more about the University of Minnesota and enter to win prize packages. Once a participant scans at least 5 of the 8 QR codes, an entry form appears, and you can enter to win one of ten prize packages.
How does it work?
- Visitors scan QR codes posted at participating locations.
- Each scan logs a visit and provides information about the site.
- After scanning at least 5 of the 8 QR codes at the different locations, an entry form appears, allowing participants to enter a drawing to win one of many prize packages.
- Participants can scan all 8 locations if they wish. Scans beyond the first 5 increase the fun but do not increase the number of entries.
Who can play and win the prize packages?
- Anyone with a phone that has internet access can play the game.
- University of Minnesota faculty and staff are not eligible to win.
- Current students can play and win.
- Limit one entry per person.
What are the prizes?
- There are 10 prize packages to win - valued from $200 to $250 each
- Prizes include museum and athletics tickets, bookstore gift cards, meat and cheese shop gift cards, and more
When will the winners be drawn and notified?
- Winners will be randomly selected within two weeks after the fair ends.
- They will be contacted via the phone number and/or email address provided on their entry.
- Winners have 7 days to respond before a new winner is selected.
- Winners will be reported to the State Fair for verification to ensure prizes are awarded.
